The Cabinet on May 31 approved the ratification of the Moldovan-Romanian agreements on the modernization of three cross-border bridges across the Prut River, signed on May 9.
The document envisages the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the bridges Leuseni (Moldova) – Albita (Romania), Cahul (Moldova) – Oancea (Romania) and Sculeni (Moldova) – Sculeni (Romania), the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The bridges’ modernization will ease the traffic between the two states, will facilitate the trade on the domestic and international markets and will provide concrete benefits, in order to enhance Moldova’s connectivity between the European Union countries and the east of Europe.
The repair works will be financed by the government of Romania till late 2027 and are part of the European Moldova 2030 national development strategy. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
