The Energy Ministry this year will launch tenders for big capacities of generating energy from renewable sources and this process is aimed at getting the best price for energy for consumers. Energy Minister Victor Parlicov has made statements to this effect at a meeting with representatives of the principal business associations.
The participants of the meeting discussed the priorities of the renewable energy sector, the schedule of their carrying out and the expectations of the business environment. Victor Parlicov informed about the initiative to create an area of testing new technologies in the energy field in Moldova.
“Through Innovation sandbox, we will create quicker conditions than in other countries, in order to construct, test, certify and launch new technologies on market. We speak here about both technologies of stocking energy, electrification and hydrogenization of transport, any type of technologies of use of the solid biomass, construction of houses with energy consumption close to zero, known as nearly zero-emission buildings (NZEB),” the energy minister said.
Parlicov noted that the priority for Moldova was the enhancement of the capacity of the electricity network to absorb more renewable energy, with the only “red lines” being the impact on the environment.
The business environment’s representatives emphasized the need to improve the mechanism of balancing the renewable energy, the evolution of the scheme of support through the net metering, contribution of energy resources to enhancing the competitiveness of the Moldovan products on the international markets, fiscal facilities for the green technologies and the methodology of calculation of the price for oil products.
