At an extraordinary meeting within the framework of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine, the Government approved the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that the document was a key tool for implementing the Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2021-2025, established by law of Ukraine.
“The program contains measures aimed at improving the effectiveness of the anti-corruption system in various spheres of public life, forming a negative attitude to corruption in society and ensuring inevitable responsibility for corruption,” the Prime Minister said.
In particular, the program envisages measures in the areas of judicial proceedings, state regulation of the economy, customs and taxation, public and private sectors of the economy, construction, land relations and infrastructure, defense, healthcare, education and science and social protection.
Moreover, the document provides for measures aimed at eliminating possible corruption factors and improving the development and implementation of the state anti-corruption policy. The program also regulates coordination and monitoring of the evaluation of effectiveness of the Anti-Corruption Strategy and the state program for its implementation.
“We understand that such an important tool should remain a living document, open to suggestions and additions. Therefore, we will work with the Parliament, other stakeholders, heads of anti-corruption bodies,” the Prime Minister said.
The Head of Government noted that today the Selection Commission had identified and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers its proposals regarding three finalists for the position of NABU Director, and the Government would approve Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau at its next meeting.
