It is essential to employ internally displaced persons. This was urged by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, during a live broadcast at a United News telethon. She added that jobs for IDPs would be among the Government’s priorities this year.
“While last year our priority was to evacuate and stabilize IDPs, this year our focus is on integration into host communities and preparation for returning to their usual places of residence,” the official said.
“The cold period is coming to an end. Spring is coming soon. We need to work. Today only one third of IDPs have jobs. I urge local authorities and employers to hire IDPs more actively. And I urge our IDPs to look for a job more proactively. Contact local authorities, employment centers, and local communities. There is always a demand for good workers. As the saying goes, you can’t be idle when your hands are busy!” summarized Iryna Vereshchuk. (Government portal/Business World Magazine)
