The tariff for thermal energy delivered by Termoelectrica will increase by 723 lei for 1 gigacalorie. The decision was taken on February 28 by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE). Thus, while until now consumers in the capital paid 2,854 lei for 1 gigacalorie, after the tariff change, the price would be 3,577 lei (178 euros), increasing by 25%.
At the same time, the tariff for electricity produced by Termoelectrica was reduced by 0.61 lei or by 14%.
The tariff was increased following ANRE’s examination of a request issued by Termoelectrica. The company argued that the adjustments were necessary “in order to ensure the sustainability and reliable activity of the company in the face of substantial changes in the prices of primary energy resources”.
Last time the tariff for thermal energy delivered to consumers in the capital was increased in October 2022. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
