The State Administration of Roads (ASD) announced that sector II of the R6 Chisinau-Orhei-Balti road, rehabilitated according to European standards, was put into operation, after a reception committee noted that the works were being carried out and at a high level of quality, according to the execution project.
The works, executed by a company from Turkey, provided for the rehabilitation of the section from km 76+700 – km 94+700 and the bridge from km 72+944 and refer to the rehabilitation of the road system, the construction of over 9000 square meters of pavement, the rehabilitation /reconstruction of 6 bridges, 26 footbridges and the rainwater drainage system, construction of bus stations, according to ASD.
Also, to increase the level of safety of traffic participants, road signs were installed and more than 8 thousand square meters of thermoplastic road markings were applied, all of which were executed in compliance with European standards. The length of the road sector is 18 km with a contract value of about 17 million euros, money provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
According to road users, besides of the benefits it will bring to the residents of the villages of Ratus, Banesti (Telenesti district) and Prepelita (Sangerei district), this road sector will have a major impact in increasing road safety and decongesting traffic in that area.
