Lithuania is not satisfied with the European Commission’s proposed price cap on wholesale natural gas, President Gitanas Nauseda said on November 24.
“It would not help to protect ourselves even against the peak we had in the past,” he said at a joint news conference with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis in Vilnius.
Earlier this week, the EU’s executive body proposed a gas price cap of 275 euros per megawatt hour for month-ahead TTF contracts.
EU energy ministers on November 24 failed to agree on the gas price cap to ease the energy crisis in Europe. They will discuss the measure again in December. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
