Since August, small and medium-sized enterprises can benefit from non-refundable financial support worth up to 2 million lei (about 100 thousand euros) from the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA).
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the money is given to replace equipment and reduce production costs, so that companies can become more competitive with the help of funds provided by the state.
Bardar Bakery is one of the businesses that has benefited from several ODA grants past years. Director and co-owner of the company Victor Nistorica said that he bought a freezer and an electric generator from the 2-million lei grant.
“Thanks to this support we are in the process of total transformation. We have purchased newer and smarter machines with automated settings, more economical machines, which means less energy and gas consumption,” the entrepreneur said.
ODA acting head Dumitru Pintea said: “The organization is in discussions with external partners to supplement the budgets of the grant programs, including for the modernization initiative, with resources from the EU Delegation or other donors”.
This year, about 50 million lei were allocated for the re-technology and energy efficiency program. Until late 2022, about 100 entrepreneurs will be supported from the resources. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
