Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal expects that Ukraine will receive EUR 5 billion in macro-financial assistance from the EU this week. He discussed with German partners the issue of receiving another EUR 3 billion in support, as well as providing macro-financial assistance to Ukraine next year.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a briefing his Berlin.
“We have received EUR 1 billion in grant funds from Germany, and we are very grateful for this. We have received EUR 1 billion in macro-financial assistance from the EU. Additionally, this week we expect to receive EUR 5 billion in macro-financial assistance from the EU, which were unblocked after our conversations with the German Finance Minister, with Mr. Chancellor Scholz. Hence, we expect to receive this significant sum in assistance to Ukraine in the near future. Also, now we have continued discussion on how Ukraine will receive another EUR 3 billion in macro-financial assistance,” Shmyhal said, following his meeting with German government officials and the Bundestag members.
According to Shmyhal, during his meetings with German partners, the issue of providing macro-financial assistance to Ukraine next year was also raised, and Germany was expected to play a leading role in this. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
