Georgia exported locally produced goods worth $2.55 billion in January-June, up by 35.6% YoY, preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia showed.
Geostat said local exports in the country accounted for 73.5% of total exports in the reporting period, amounting to $1.88 billion, up by 36.3%.
Georgia’s top trading partners were China – $376.2 million, Turkey – $240.2 million and Bulgaria -$224.1 million.
The five largest domestic export goods of Georgia included copper ores and concentrates – $533.1 million (28.3% of total exports), ferroalloys – $295.6 million (15.7%), nitrogenous fertilizers – $165.8 million (8.8%), wine from fresh grapes – $99.4 million (5.3%) and electrical energy – $53.8 million (2.9%).
In general, Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $8.47 billion in January-June, up by 35.4%.
The exports equaled $2.55 billion (+35.6%), while the imports stood at $5.91 billion (+35.3%). (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
