British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons has signed a $450-million guarantee out of a $1.5-billion loan from the World Bank to Ukraine.
“The UK guaranteed $450 million of a $1.5-billion to Ukraine through a World Bank loan, to support vital public services. The British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons signed the guarantee from Kyiv,” the British Embassy in Ukraine said on Twitter.
The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors on June 7 decided to provide Ukraine with $1.49 billion in additional funding under the Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance in Ukraine Project, increasing the total support package to more than $4 billion.
