In April-May, Moldovan producers managed to export over 63 thousand tons of apples. In the same period of last year, 39 thousand tons of apples were exported, the Moldova Fruit Association reported.
“The fruits reached Romania, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Iraq, the Russian Federation, etc. Exports to Romania increased. While in April-May 2021, 60 tons of apples were sold to this destination, in the same period of this year more than 4700 tons were sold,” indicates Moldova Fruct.
There is a clear trend of diversification of apple markets.
“While in 2021 the fruits were sold to four destinations, in the spring of 2022 apples reached consumers in 18 countries,” reads a statement from the association. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
