The Moldovan capital’s authorities will ask the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) for a tariff of 6 lei for one travel by trolley bus or bus.
The Chisinau city hall informed that it backed the Methodology of calculation of the tariffs for one travel in the public transport from the Chisinau municipality, worked out by the Business Consulting Institute public association, under which decision-makers demanded a three-fold increase in the travel fare by trolley bus and a two-fold one by bus. The new tariffs suggested took into account the structure, way of calculation, way of approval and enforcement of tariffs for the services provided by the public transport operators who work on routes from the Chisinau city.
One travel fare will be lower for those who buy travel passes. Thus, in the case of one-month travel pass, the travel fare is estimated at 3.9 lei, in case of travel pass for three months – 3.3 lei and if the travel pass is for half a year, the travel fare will be 2.7 lei.
Deputy Mayor Ilie Ceban said that the Chisinau city hall planned to extend the list of beneficiaries of free of charge travels. While so far, only the children up to the age of 7 years have been moving for free in public transport, decision-makers propose to exempt also the pupils of the first forms from the payment of the travel fare. Authorities estimate that it was about 40,000 beneficiaries – pupils of the I-IV forms. The pensioners will travel for free in the public transport as well. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
