The MPs have made amendments to the law on oil products’ market, Fiscal Code and Contravention Code.
The draft provides for the introduction of a temporary moratorium on the construction of fuel supply stations, taking into account that the excessively high number stations leads to increasing expenses and to a bigger pressure on the pump prices. The moratorium remains in force till the working out by the authorities of much stricter criteria of construction of these stations.
Also, the act adopted provides for the cutting of the license tax for the import and wholesale commercialization of fuels from 260,000 lei to 3,250 lei annually.
At the same time, the fines imposed against oil companies for the infringement of the legislation in the field will increase up to ten-fold; at present, they vary between 3,000 lei and 15,000 lei. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
