The circulation term of Georgian Lari (GEL) banknotes issued in 1995 and 1999 expired on January 1, the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported.
Banknotes of all GEL denominations issued since 2002 are legal tender across the country.
“All legal entities and individuals are obliged to receive and pay with these banknotes without any problems,” the NBG says.
The NBG also states that banknotes from 1995 and 1999 can be exchanged at cash centers of the National Bank of Georgia. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
