Sugar factories of Poltava region produced 166.5 thousand tons of sugar.
According to Sergiy Frolov, the director of Department of Agri-Industrial Development of Poltava Regional State Administration, agrarians of Poltava region finished sugar beet harvesting. This year, 1.75 million tons of beets were harvested from the area of almost 26,000 hectares. According to this indicator, Poltava region is the third in Ukraine. The average crop yield is 41.5 tons/ha (0.95 tons/ha higher than last year).
As in the previous year, sugar beets are processed by four sugar refineries – Lannivskyi, Globyno, Novoorzhytsky and Yaresky. At present, they have processed more than 1 million tons of beets and produced 166.5 thousand tons of sugar. (Ukrsugar/Business World Magazine)
