In September, actual unemployment rate in Latvia comprised 6.4%, down by 0.5% MoM. The actual unemployment rate in the country has not been so low since December 2019 (6.6%).
The unemployment rate for females decreased by 0.3%, to 5.4% in September, but for males by 0.6%, to 7.5%, according to data of the Labour Force Survey (LFS) conducted by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSP).
The unemployment rate registered with the State Employment Agency (SEA) was 6%, down by 0.5%.
Compared to September of the previous year, the actual unemployment rate has decreased by 1.6% and the registered unemployment rate – by 1.7%.
In September, there were 60.4 thousand unemployed persons in Latvia (25.1 thousand females and 35.3 thousand males), down by 4.3 thousand MoM and by 17.3 thousand YoY. During the month, the number of unemployed females has decreased by 1.7 thousand and males – by 2.6 thousand. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
