In August, consumer prices in Ukraine decreased by 0.2% MoM, according to the State Statistics Service, but ose by 10.2% YoY and by 6.2% compared to December 2020.
In January-August, compared to the same period last year, consumer inflation amounted to 8.7%.
Core inflation last month was 0% compared to July. Since the beginning of the year, it has reached 4.2%.
From August 2020 to August 2021, among consumer goods and services, the highest rise was registered in the prices for natural gas (+96.1%), sugar (+75.6%) and sunflower oil (+91.2%).
At the same time, there was a decrease in prices for fruits (-9%), vegetables (-8.1%), footwear (-4.3%) and clothing (-4.3%). (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
