The Ministry of Energy has approved a new monthly coal accumulation schedule for thermal power plants (TPPs) and combined heat and power (CHP) plants, increasing the planned accumulation indicators by the start of the heating season more than two-fold, to 3,046,400 tons of coal.
“According to the new document, 3,046,400 tons of coal should be accumulated in the warehouses of TPPs and CHP plants as of the beginning of the heating season. This is more than twice the figure of the previous schedule, which set a coal accumulation plan at 1,409,100 tons,” reads the ministry report.
The ministry’s decision to increase coal accumulation indicators is due to the need to ensure stable electricity and heat supply during the autumn-winter period, as well as sustainable operation of the power system during tests in an isolated mode within preparations for synchronization with ENTSO-E.
