As confirmed by VAS Valsts nekustamie ipasumi (VNI), SBSC won the tender for the improvement of energy efficiency of Valmiera drama theatre. Their offer was declared the most economically advantageous.
The total estimated price is EUR 6.57 million (no VAT).
If no complaints are received, the contract will be signed soon and construction work will commence this autumn, as reported by VNI real estate development office director Janis Ivanovskis-Pigits.
Construction work will be performed in parallel to the theatre’s operations. Employees of the theatre will be able to use part of the theatre and the construction work planned for the building will need to be finished within 14 months after the contract’s signing. The construction project for the restoration and improvement of energy efficiency of Valmiera drama theatre was developed by SIA Sestais stils. The project is intended to restore the theatre’s look, create better conditions for workers and visitors of the theatre. It is also planned to improve energy consumption and energy costs by 50%, says VNI.
At the same time, it is planned to construct a new black-box performance hall to accommodate special needs people and improve the theatre’s functionality. The construction project also provides for the enhancement of the building’s foundation to ensure longevity of investments. New light projectors have been procured for the theatre’s stage. It is also planned to procure new seats for the audience and other necessary equipment – sound, lighting and stage operation equipment. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
