The Economy Ministry is working on bringing the draft law on reforming the corporate governance of state-owned enterprises in line with international best practices, Deputy Economy Minister Kristina Holubytska has said at the round table discussion “Corporate Governance of SOEs in Ukraine: A Review of Ukraine’s position against the OECD SOE Guidelines”.
“Today, we work closely with experts and development partners, MPs and committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to improve legislation to enhance the corporate governance of legal entities whose shareholder is the state. The purpose of these discussions is to develop a truly high-quality, important and effective bill for its speedy adoption and implementation,” said Holubytska.
According to her, the Verkhovna Rada has already registered bill No. 5593 and two alternative projects on corporate governance reform. Holubytska stressed that for its part, the Economy Ministry was developing proposals that would bring the legislation on corporate governance of state-owned companies in line with best international practices and OECD recommendations.
