Milk production in Ukraine decreased by 5.3% YoY in January-May, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
In particular, milk output amounted to 3.43 million tons, including 1.4 million tons produced by agricultural enterprises (-0.6%) and 2.29 million tons by private households (-6.5%).
The highest volumes of milk production over the reporting period were recorded in Poltava region – 274.8 thousand tons (-6%), Vinnytsia region – 267 thousand tons (-7.3%) and Khmelnytskyi region – 254.8 thousand tons (+1.2%).
The lowest volumes of milk production over the reporting period were recorded in Luhansk region – 35.8 thousand tons (-8.4%), Donetsk region – 55.8 thousand tons (-6.2%) and Zaporizhzhia region – 74.9 thousand tons (-8.3%). (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
