In January-March, the Freeport of Riga (Latvia) handled 5.39 million tons of cargo, down by 15.3% YoY.
According to the port’s statistics, handing of grain increased by 42.6%, to 832,700 tons, ore – by 42.9%, to 199.600 tons, wood pellets – by 9.3%, to 588,700 tons, sawn timber – over 2-fold, to 116,700 tons, and timber – by 7.9%, to 577,000 tons. At the same time coal and coke handling fell by 83.3%, to 171,800 tons, chemicals – by 10.7% to 338,700 tons, wood chips – by 36.6%, to 236,100 tons, and oil products – by 15.1%, to 621,500 tons.
The port’s container throughput fell by 11.9%, to 105,159 TEU.
