During this year’s Ligo celebration – June 23-24 – public transport services in Latvia will not be free of charge. At the same time, however, certain discounts and benefits will be in place, as reported by Riga municipality.
As previously reported, to prevent crowds from forming and ensure compliance with COVID-19 restrictions, Riga City Council’s interim administration made this decision on June 11 after consulting with epidemiologists.
From June 20 until June 24 public transports (buses, trolleybuses and trams) in Riga will be operating according to their weekend schedule.
Weekend tickets will be valid for use in public transports. Weekday tickets will not be valid, however.
On June 23-24, Riga municipality’s paid parking zones serviced by Rigas satiksme will be allowed to be used free of charge.
The underground parking located on K. Valdemara Street 5a near the House of Congress will work in accordance with existing tariffs prior to and during the holiday. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
