Travel by railway will resume in Georgia on June 15, Georgian Railways has announced, noting the company is ready to ensure the safe transportation of passengers and to implement the regulations imposed by the Ministry of Health.
Georgian Railway said that the Ministry of Health had already inspected train wagons and concluded that Georgian Railways was strictly following all the regulations and was ready to restore the transportation of passengers.
Head of Georgian Railways’ Medical Service Nika Katcharava said that together with the Ministry of Health, Georgian Railways had created instructions for passengers according which passengers would undergo screening with thermal devices, passengers should step on disinfecting mats when entering train wagons, hand disinfection and social distancing was also mandatory, passengers should wear facemasks during the whole journey.
