Ukrainian bus carriers are hesitant to resume operations over the government-imposed restrictions on the number of passengers per vehicle, that’s according to ex-MP, transport expert Oleksandr Kava.
“The market of bus transportation is that of privately-owned carriers unlike in European countries, where there are municipal monopolies in city and suburban transport,” the expert said.
“Accordingly, many carriers aren’t willing to incur losses amid a small passenger flow,” he added.
According to the expert, the government has no effective tools so far for forcing carriers to fulfill contractual obligations. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
