Exports of Ukraine-made agricultural machinery in 2019 shrank by almost 10% YoY, say experts with the National Scientific Center “Institute of Agrarian Economics”.
“Ukraine’s export opportunities with regard to the main types of agricultural equipment are traditionally significantly lower than import ones. However, supplies from foreign countries in 2019 declined critically, that is, by 9.4%, to $37.6 million,” the Center’s press service said on its website.
Exports of Ukrainian tractors declined the most – by 60%, to $3.3 million against $7.4 million in 2018.
Last year, Belarus was the major buyer of Ukrainian tractors, having paid $1.1 million, which accounted for 33.3% of Ukraine’s total tractor sales. Next come Romania ($0.9 million/27.3%), Moldova ($0.5 million/15.2%), Cuba ($0.4 million/12.1%) and Israel ($0.2 million/6%). Exports of seeding machines were the most profitable for Ukrainian manufacturers in the past year, having brought $10.3 million in revenue. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
