In June consumer prices in Ukraine fell by 0.5% MoM, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
“Consumer prices in June decreased by 0.5% compared with May, but grew by 3.6% since the start of the year,” the report says.
At the same time, compared with December 2018, consumer prices rose by 3.6% and by 9% from June 2018. In the first half of 2019 inflation in the consumer market amounted to 9% compared with the same period in 2018.
As to the prices for consumer goods and services in June, the largest increase, compared with December 2018, was recorded among the prices for fruit (by 33.6%), passenger rail services (by 26.7%), and vegetables (by 24%).
At the same time, in the period from December 2018 to June 2019 the drop was recorded among the prices for eggs (by 49.7%), natural gas (by 10.3%), fuel and lubricants (by 1.8%).
Core inflation in June amounted to 0.0% as compared with the previous month and 2.3% since the start of the year. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
