Declaring default will stop Ukraine’s economic growth and trigger uncontrolled inflation.
“Over the past week, many different statements have been made, including on declaring default. What does default mean? It means zeroing the incomes of Ukrainians, uncontrolled inflation, cessation of economic growth, unclear exchange rate of the national currency. I want to say: this is not my scenario, this is not the scenario of Ukrainians,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said while delivering a speech at the Verkhovna Rada.
He noted that default would lead to economic and social losses.
“And our task is to prevent any crises in the state and make every effort to ensure the development of the state,” the Prime Minister added.
As reported, oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky said that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky should declare a default. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
