During the first quarter of 2019, the average gross monthly wage in Estonia stood at EUR 1,341, up by 7.9% YoY, according to Statistics Estonia, though down by 3.2% QoQ.
Average Q1 2019 monthly gross wages/salaries by month were: January – EUR 1,309, February – EUR 1,317 and March – EUR 1,396.
As well as falling overall on Q4 2018, the YoY growth was 1% lower in Q1 2019, than in the previous quarter.
Real wages increased by 5.5%, continuing a YoY trend that started in the second half of 2011, though at a slower rate than in Q1 2018, due to consumer price rises.
Highest paying sectors in Q1 were finance and insurance, energy and information and communication. (ERR/Business World Magazine)
