Kyiv-based Bogdan Corporation, one of Ukraine’s major motor vehicles manufacturers, has manufactured the first 18-meter bus body for electric buses of Bluebus, a French manufacturer of environment-friendly public transport vehicles, as part of a new contract signed earlier this year.
“Partnership with European companies is an important vector of the corporation’s development, which seeks to expand international relations for the distribution of Ukrainian products. At the same time, the company hopes that Ukraine will pay attention to the achievements of the specialists from Lutsk-based Car Assembly Plant No. 1 as the company is able to provide domestic cities with high-quality electric transport vehicles,” the corporation’s press service said in a statement on March 27.
The European partner is now conducting bus body tests, after which mass production will be launched at Bogdan’s plant in Lutsk. The chief designer’s bureau is now developing a 12-meter one-piece bearing body made of low-alloyed stainless steel, which will be a new step in cooperation with Bluebus.
As part of last year’s deal, PJSC Automobile Company Bogdan Motors – the main production asset of the Bogdan Corporation -delivered six 12-meter bodies made of structural steel to France, which had passed cataphoresis to increase their corrosion resistance. Thus, new vehicle bodies will be stronger and more durable. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
