At least 5 new trolleybuses were delivered to Bishkek, vice mayor of Bishkek Gennady Militsky declared.
“47 trolleybuses of 52 arrived in Bishkek. Delivery of the remaining five is expected by the end of the month,” he said.
According to the vice mayor, most of the delivered vehicles already service their routes.
“We are striving to shorten the interval between trolleybuses to 10-12 minutes. Some trolleybuses are ready for operation, but some routes are still closed due to road repairs. There are 125 trolleybuses as of today. After the completion of the work, we plan to put in operation 150-155 trolleybuses,” he said.
The trolleybuses were purchased on credit through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. 37 vehicles were purchased in Russia (Trolza Market), and 15 – in Belarus (Belkommunmash OJSC). (24.kg/Business World Magazine)
