Ukrainian berry and nut exports have grown by 61.5% YoY in January-May.
“The berry and nut exports in the first five months of this year totaled $83.8 million and increased by 61.5%,” the Economic Development Ministry and Trade Ministry of Ukraine posted on Twitter.
As noted, the largest importers of Ukrainian berries and nuts were the European Union ($51 million), Turkey ($8.6 million) and Belarus ($5.5 million).
In 2017-2018 marketing year the Ukrainian apple exports hit the record of the past five years.
Last year Ukraine exported 40,000 tons of berries to the EU. The export leaders were blueberries (44% of total export) and raspberries (29%), and the largest importers were the Netherlands, Austria and the United Kingdom. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
