In 2017 exports of Ukrainian goods to Canada grew by 74.4% (or $21.5 million) and amounted to $50.4 million, the press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry wrote on Twitter.
“Soon it will be two years since the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement was signed. In 2017 exports of Ukrainian goods to Canada rose by 74.4% (or $21.5 million) and amounted to $50.4 million,” reads the report.
The free trade agreement between Canada and Ukraine was signed on July 11, 2016 by Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv and Minister of International Trade of Canada Chrystia Freeland. The agreement came into force on August 1, 2017. The agreement cancels 98% of tariffs for Ukrainian goods that will be sold to Canada. Some 72% of tariffs are immediately canceled for Canadian goods, and in the next seven years duty free exports will grow to 98%. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
