In January-March consumer loans were provided most actively by the state-owned banks and banks with private Ukrainian capital, the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported.
“Consumer lending remains high – for the first quarter the volume of lending portfolio to individuals increased by 5.6%, to UAH 83.8 billion, or by more than 37% YoY. In January-March consumer loans were actively provided by state-owned banks and banks with private Ukrainian capital. For the most part, Ukrainians take loans for current needs, the purchase of household appliances and others,” the statement reads.
In corporate segment, the loan portfolio has remained almost unchanged. Banks focused their efforts on improving the quality of existing portfolio, carrying out a number of restructuring of troubled debts, which allowed disbanding reserves for loans that began to be serviced.
