At the beginning of May the number passengers traveling on the St Petersburg – Tallinn and St Petersburg – Riga routes has increased by 18% when compared to the same period of 2017. Half of those passengers traveled from St Petersburg to Tallinn, according to data from Lux Express.
The largest number of Russian tourists (19%) arrived in Riga from St Petersburg. 14% more Russian tourists traveled to Helsinki this year than the year before.
“We noticed increased demand for travel in early spring. Because of that, we decided to add 11 additional runs from St Petersburg to Helsinki, Tallinn and Riga,” says Lux Express representative Raits Remmels.
He notes that trips to Latvia’s capital are the most expensive for Russian tourists.
In response to growing demand, Lux Express has decided to increase the number of runs between St Petersburg and Tallinn from June onward. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
