Ukraine’s new light MSB-2 Nadiya helicopter, built by Zaporizhia-based JSC Motor Sich, made its maiden flight in the city of Zaporizhia on April 16.
The MSB-2, which is made of composite materials by 70%, is an upgraded version of the Mi-2 helicopter. Its fuel tank is installed outside the passenger compartment. The helicopter’s trials will last for 12 months.
By the end of 2018 Motor Sich plans to have completed certification procedures for the new MSB-2 Nadiya civil helicopter, first showcased at the Ukrainian Championships of Helicopter Sports on August 19, 2017.
This is a multipurpose helicopter equipped with two turbocharged 450 hp engines. It may be used for freight and passenger transportation to remote and hard-to-reach areas, for rescue or medical aid missions. The chopper has a seating capacity of up to seven people and its flying range is expected to be increased to 1,000 km. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
