Kazakhstan supplied 175.8 KMT of barley to foreign markets in December 2017. This was the largest volume since MY 2014-2015 and 13.7% more than in December 2016.
Total barley exports from Kazakhstan in September-December 2017-2018 reached 553.7 KMT, up from 355.6 KMT.
In the first four months of MY 2017-2018 the top three importers of Kazakh barley included Iran, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. It is worth noting that the combined volume exported to these countries at the time reached as much as 550.2 KMT against 627.9 KMT for the entire 2016-2017. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
