Ukrainian farmers since the beginning of the 2017-2018 marketing year (MY, July 2017 – June 2018) as of January 24 exported 23 million tons of grains, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported.
In particular, Ukraine has exported 11.9 million tons of wheat, 3.9 million tons of barley, 13,200 tons of rye and 7 million tons of corn.
In addition, during the reporting period agrarians exported to foreign markets 252,400 tons of flour, of which 251,600 tons wheat flour and 0,800 tons other types of flour.
Agrarians in 2016-2017 MY, according to preliminary estimates, exported 43.8 million tons of grains, which is a record in the entire history of the state’s independence. At the same time, revenues from grain exports increased by 6%, to $6.4 billion. The previous record of grain exports in Ukraine was reported in 2015-2016 MY at 39.4 million tons.
According to the State Statistics Service, in 2016 Ukraine collected 65.95 million tons of grains and legumes, up by 9.7% YoY, and is a record for the country during the years of independence. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
