Following the results of 2017 Ukraine ranked second in terms of butter supplies to the European Union, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade – Ukraine’s Trade Representative Natalia Mykolska informed on her Facebook page.
“Ukraine once again confirmed the existing status quo as a reliable and important player in the European Union’s agrarian market. This is evidenced by the success of our exporters, primarily the suppliers of dairy products. Ukraine ranked second after New Zealand in terms of the supply of butter to the European Union. In January-November 2017 the EU imported 2,300 tons of butter, while the annual supplies increased almost 7-fold compared to 2016,” the official said.
According to Mykolska, Ukraine also demonstrated growth on the global market.
“According to our colleagues from the USA, Ukraine ranked eighth in terms of butter exports in the world in January-October 2017 with a total volume of 20,800 tons and a 3-fold YoY increase,” she said.
