Production of motor vehicles in Ukraine rose by 67% YoY in January-November, to 7,654 units, according to the Ukrautoprom Association.
In particular, the number of manufactured passenger cars grew by 72.2%, to 6,544 units, while the production of commercial vehicles fell by 22.7%, to 423 units. At the same time, the number of buses manufactured over the period under review increased 1.9-fold, to 687 units, it said.
In November alone, Ukraine produced 1,014 vehicles, up by 15.6% YoY and by 7.2% MoM. Passenger cars whose output increased by 15.9% in November, to 895 units, accounted for the lion’s share of total vehicle output. Twenty-nine trucks were produced in November (the majority of vehicles at ZAZ Zaporizhia automobile building plant), down by 43.1% YoY.
As Ukrautoprom claims, truck manufacturer AutoKrAZ, for unexplained reasons, has not been providing statistics on truck production since August last year.
Ukraine also produced 90 buses in November, up by 83.7%.
The production of vehicles in Ukraine fell by 36% in 2016 from 2015, to 5,200 vehicles, according to Ukrautoprom.
The largest manufacturers of cars and buses in Ukraine are UkrAVTO Corporation (Zaporizhia automobile building plant), Bogdan Corporation, Eurocar plant, AIS Corporation (KrASZ), Etalon Corporation (Chernihiv and Boryspil automobile plants). (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
