The dairy exports of companies affiliated with Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Ministry to the Chinese market skyrocketed 12-fold in January-September, Aleksei Bogdanov, head of the main department for foreign economic affairs of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, told a press conference.
“In January-September, the exports of dairy products to China surged 12-fold, to exceed $4.5 million. This is a small share of our total exports but we have tapped into the Chinese market just recently,” Aleksei Bogdanov said.
The companies of Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Ministry exported products to 65 countries in January-September. Over this period of time, the exports of agricultural products to CIS countries (except for Russia) grew more than 2-fold, to $118.5 million. There has been an increase in the agricultural exports to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Moldova, and Ukraine. In total, the foreign trade of Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Ministry saw a growth of 11% YoY in January-September.
All in all, the companies affiliated with the ministry sold abroad $1.844 billion worth of agricultural products, up $184 million YoY. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
