Sugar exports from Ukraine since early 2017-2018 agricultural year (September-August) totaled 59,300 tons, the Ukrtsukor national association of sugar producers has reported.
The association said in a press release that in October Ukrainian companies exported 42,300 tons of sugar, up 2.5-fold MoM.
“In October, exporters shipped 2.5 times more sugar than in the previous month and, according to the association’s forecasts, this indicator will continue to increase. The export geography did not change a lot. The main deliveries were to Azerbaijan – 29%, Sri Lanka – 18%, Tajikistan – 9% and Sudan – 8%,” Head of the analytical department of the association Ruslana Butylo said.
As of November 8, Ukraine had 41 operating sugar refineries and produced 1.2 million tons of sugar.
