The Ukrainian coffee market showed an increase in sales by 3% in natural terms in the period from September 2016 to August 2017, the Nielsen research company has said.
According to a press release, during the same period of 2015-2016 coffee sales dropped by 8%.
In September 2016 – August 2017 the segment of natural (ground and coffee beans) coffee occupied the largest share in the structure of coffee sales with 35% in natural terms and 24% in money terms.
The share of instant coffee is 26% in natural terms and 54% in monetary terms in the total sales structure.
Coffee mixes take up 33% in natural terms and 18% in monetary terms.
Coffee blends, which occupy 4% in natural terms and 2% in monetary terms, demonstrate a negative dynamics of sales due to a decrease in demand: by 12% in natural terms and by 10% in monetary terms compared to the previous year.
According to Nielsen, the key producers of coffee in Ukraine are Food Empire, Jacobs Douwe Egberts, Nestle, Orimi Trade, and Strauss Coffee. (Interfax-Ukraine/Business World Magazine)
