In January-August Belarus’ export of merchandise and services rose by 19.2% YoY, to $22.907 billion, the latest statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) shows.
Belarus’ foreign trade in merchandise and services totaled $45.338 billion, up by 18.6%. Export amounted to $22.907 billion, up by 19.2%; import rose by 18%, to $22.43 billion. The surplus of Belarus’ foreign trade in goods and services totaled $477 million. Belarus’ merchandise trade surged by 20.8%, to $37.542 billion. Merchandise export went up by 20.9%, to $18.067 billion, with import up by 20.7%, to $19.475 billion. The deficit of Belarus’ merchandise trade amounted to $1.407 billion.
In January-August Belarus’ foreign trade in services reached $7.795 billion, up by 9% YoY. Export of services reached $4.84 billion, up by 13.2%, with import at $2.955 billion, up by 2.6%. The surplus of Belarus’ foreign trade in services totaled $1.885 billion. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
