In January-June the foreign trade deficit in goods in Ukraine reached $1.882 billion against the deficit of $727.5 million in the same period last year (up 1.78-fold), the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported.
In particular, in the January-June period the exports of commodities from Ukraine totaled $20.652 billion, up by 24.2% YoY. The import volumes of goods to Ukraine totaled $22.534 billion, up by 29.9%.
The export-import coverage ratio totaled 0.92 (in January-June 2016 – 0.96). Ukraine carried out foreign trade operations with partners from 217 countries.
In the reporting period, the volume of Ukrainian commodities exports to the EU increased by 26.1%, to $8.218 billion, and formed 39.8% in the general export structure. The imports of EU commodities increased by 24%, to $9.526 billion, and formed 42.3% in the general import structure. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
