A total of 1,742.600 hectares, or 80.2%, of areas under crops have been harvested in Belarus so far, the Agriculture and Food Ministry reported.
As of August 18, Belarus’ grain harvest exceeded 6.274 million tons. Brest region harvested more than 1,205.8 million tons, Minsk region – 1,546.000 tons. Gomel region and Grodno region cropped 896,800 and 1,143,100 tons respectively. The harvest of Mogilev region reached 901,100 tons, Vitebsk region – 581,100 tons.
Brest region remains the leader: the region has cropped 98.2% of the total area. This year, the average yield makes up 36 hundredweights per hectare. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
