The National Commission for Energy, Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) has issued a natural gas supply license to Naftogaz Ukrainy gas supplying company LLC.
The decision was made on July 4.
Gaz Ukrainy, the subsidiary of Naftogaz Ukrainy, fully owns the limited liability company.
Earlier Naftogaz Ukrainy Commercial Director Yuriy Vitrenko said that Naftogaz proposed to Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers to authorize the company to supply gas to households under public service obligations (PSO).
He said that Naftogaz would initiate amendments to the government resolution on PSO aiming at removing gas supply companies (private companies belonging to owners of regional supply companies) from the chain of gas supplies to households.
Naftogaz believes that existing gas supply companies are pseudo gas suppliers, as they are not responsible for risks linked to gas delivery to end-use customers. (Interfax-Ukraine/Business World Magazine)
