In May Ukrainian flour production amounted to 139.26 KMT that is somewhat more than at the same time last year (up by 3.7%). Nevertheless, Ukraine’s flour output for the five months of the current year decreased by 1.5% YoY, to 762.97 KMT.
Still, the drop in production of wheat and wheat-rye flour was not so significant in this period: down by 0.5%, to 724.81 KMT. Flour production from other grains contracted by 19.4%, to 36.64 KMT, while pulse flour output was down by 6.4%, at 0.86 KMT.
Nevertheless, Ukrainian exporters continue stepping up flour shipments abroad.
The country exported 36.13 KMT of flour in May, up by 18.7% YoY. A total 366.18 KMT of flour was shipped from Ukraine to foreign markets in July 2016 – May 2017. This is already 6.4% more than in the whole last season. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
