Trade of natural gas to legal clients in Latvia has commenced. Latvenergo’s Elektrum product offers fixed-price contracts for 12-month supply period. The first gas supply contracts have been signed with clients in Latvia, the company reports.
As reported by the company, Latvenergo is the largest gas consumer in Latvia. The company uses approximately 40% of all gas in the country every year.
Under conditions of a free gas market it is only logical for Latvia’s largest energy company with an enormous amount of experience to expand its commercial activities and commence signing of individual contracts for gas supply to other consumers. Currently gas trade contracts are created for legal persons, as noted by company representatives.
Latvenergo sales director Uldis Mucinieks comments: “Opening of the gas market in Latvia has created many different changes and innovations for gas traders and clients. This includes different offers – both from the point of view of price specifications and price components.”
He continues: “This is why we have made price certainty and comprehensiveness of offers our priority: our offers include fixed and predictable gas prices for 12-month period. We want to be a reliable and safe partner in gas trade”. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
